Side Dishes
2 -12 oz. pkg. frozen French cut beans
1 5 oz. tin water chestnuts
1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds
1/2 cup butter
1 lb. fresh mushrooms sliced
1 medium onion sliced
1/4 cup flour
2 cups milk
1 cup table cream
1-1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/8 teaspoon tobasco sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Sauté mushrooms and onion in butter.
Add flour and mix. Add cream and milk and stir until thickened.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer until cheese melts.
Add cooked beans; mix well and pour into greased shallow casserole.
Sprinkle with toasted slivered almonds and bake at 350 F for 35-45 minutes.
